Happy Birthday, Ian Anders
The little guy turned seven today… All day yesterday he reminded us he was only “seve”, so he’s been waiting for this one for some time. It’s very difficult to comprehend that we’ve been in this father-and-son relationship now for seven years, but only because I can’t imagine it being any other way. Both Amy and I feel very, very fortunate to have a son who is so innately good, amazingly imaginative, curious nearly to a fault, and just so much fun. He does give us a run for our money sometimes, but I can’t fault him in the least, given his track record. He’s kind to his siblings – he and Ben are truly best friends, and Camille gets her daily wrestle out of him one way or another – and is kind to his parents. His world is boundless right now – 1st grade, new house, new city… He has that passion and attention to detail that makes us smile and know he’s really our son. And I’m just glad he’s ours.
