Saturday Night's Alright
Took the kids and some friends to the library this afternoon, and then on to watch Ratatouille on the big screen. Made the effort to get there early enough to snag a good seat and get everyone drained in advance, and it was worth it. Loved the story – the characters – the art direction – all of it top notch. Way better than Cars in my book, and easily one film I’d pay to see again.
I did kinda geek out from the get-go, and ended up sketching rats and faces and figures in the dark as I watched – it was just fun to see an character drawn the way I draw and the way my favorite illustrators draw brought to life. Just super-super inspiring all around.
Oh, and the kids liked it too.
Up late – time to finish painting the girls’ room. It’s about 40% green right now, on its way to a nice smooth sage-y 100% by one in the morning or so…
